Essential Questions:
How do author's establish theme?
Daily Agenda:
Monday: We had an issue with Kafka's Metamorphosis where, as a class, there was a difficulty in establishing not only how Kafka presented a thematic message, but what that message was at all.
This week, you will responsible for creating a piece of fiction within the following parameters.
1. It does not exceed 500 words
2. It tells a complete story. Beginning, middle, end. No shortcuts.
3. The major characters are all non-human.
4. It is anchored in a theme of your choice.
Your first ~200 words are due Wednesday.
Tuesday: Short story workshop. Using your choice of classmates, edit writing for clarity. The major question of the day: "Does this make sense?"
Wednesday: 200 words due. Continue writing and workshopping. The last few days have been extremely productive.
Thursday: TBD
Friday: Surprise Timed Writing! If you are checking this regularly, here is a hint: you're analyzing yourself.
Final stories due!
